About
Hello, my name is Hardy. I write stuff.
I am in the Puget Sound region of Washington State. I have a wife, son, two cats and a career teaching elementary school.
In the late 70s, my Mom and three older brothers moved from the suburbs of Seattle to a rural community in North Center Washington. It was a bit of a culture shock for all involved. This is when Mom’s writing really ramped up.
By the early 80s, it was just Mom and I living on our Methow Valley 8 acres and in summer of ‘86, I moved off to college and never again could claim the title of “local”. Since both The Wife and I had relatives in the Valley: her parents, my Mom and two brothers, we continued to visited quite a bit over the decades.
As far as my journey, after a very unsuccessful first year of college, I signed up for a four year stint in the military, and then returned to college a much better student. My time at Shoreline CC, Western Washington University and Lesley University helped me become a moderatedly competent elementary school teacher.
Wendi (the Wife) got a job offer in Kitsap County and so we made the move from Seattle. In the last two decades, this decision has looked better and better. As of this summer (‘22), our son has moved out on his own; being a part time college student and a part time worker. His plan is to go off to full time college sometime in next year or so.
